Dancing stAGE was was a brilliant celebration of older people dancing, created in partnership between Capital Age Festival, East London Dance, Big Dance and Southbank Centre. The event was held on the stunning Clore Ballroom in the Royal Festival Hall.

Under the direction of Choreographer, Natasha Gilmore and Project Director, Cheryl McChesney, a team of artists worked with over 150 older people from across the capital to create a breathtaking performance piece featuring:

  • Leap Of Faith

  • Montage Theatre Arts

  • Carl Campbell’s Recycled Teenagers

  • Claremont Project

  • EKTA

  • Open Age

  • Failite Social Club

  • Green Candle Senior Dancers.

The afternoon also featured work by Entelechy Arts and was generously supported by the Mayor of London, Legacy Trust UK and Arts Council England.

The afternoon was a massive success and Capital Age Festival would like to thank everyone that worked so hard on producing such a fantastic piece of work.

Work has already started on Capital Age Festival 2011 – see you next year!
