About Capital Age Festival


Capital Age Festival is London’s largest and most vibrant arts festival organised by and with older people.

 The festival showcases and celebrates the very best work created by, with and for older people. 

Capital Age Festival is free and open to all.


Capital Age Festival is:

  • A high profile event to celebrate the contribution of older Londoners to the creative eceonomy

  • A visible demonstration of the importance of active participation by older people as performers, participants volunteers

  • A contemporary and lively programme of music, dance, street theatre, visual arts, circus, drama, arts & crafts, workshops, comedy, poetry and workshops featuring older performers, representing London's diverse communities.

Capital Age Festival (2002) is a not-for-profit voluntary organisation, a registered company limited by guarantee (reg. company no.05369704).

Capital Age Festival 2010

On Friday 9th July, Capital Age Festival took to the dance floor for Dancing stAGE, the central event of Capital Age Festival 2010.

Silver Comedy

As part of Capital Age Festival: The Winter Gathering 2010, CAF teamed up with a new organisation, Silver Comedy, to create a podcast of new comedy writing by a new group of comedy writers, all aged over 50.

The Winter Gathering

On 1 March 2010 CAF hosted a day of discussion, debate & performance at City Hall, London. Over 100 people gathered to chase out the winter blues and work out, "How do we improve older people's arts?"
